Creating a healthy morning routine can help prevent stress, relieve anxiety, improve your productivity and even instil self-confidence by helping you feel more in-control. And starting your day in a way that’s healthy for your body and mind isn’t as difficult than you might think. Here are some simple steps to Create a Healthy Morning Routine so you wake up refreshed and ready to go.
If just one 20-minute EMS session a week at Feel Electric studios equals a 2-hour HIIT session, what are you waiting for? There’s only one way to feel the true power of EMS training and that’s to try it for yourself! Book a Free EMS Trial Online to Tone, Firm and Lose Weight with EMS Training.
If you want a great start to the day you might want to begin the night before. Make your lunch, get your clothes ready for the next day, get your work or school stuff packed and even prep your breakfast for the next morning if you eat first thing. A small amount of prep the day before will set you up for a calm and healthy start to the next morning.
We all know that feeling of ‘just ten more minutes’ when the alarm goes off but hitting ‘snooze’ repeatedly can quickly become another half hour in bed. And then you’re rushing to get ready or feeling bleary all morning. The same problem applies to lying in bed and scrolling through social media or the news on your phone. If you get up straight away, you’ll be joining a happier group. Research shows early risers are more productive, happier and carry less weight. Of course, if you’re always hitting the snooze button because you’re so tired you might need to rethink your sleeping schedule. A simple tip is to just stick your legs out from the sheets when your alarm goes off and you’ll find it harder to go back to snoozeville.
Wake up in the morning and the first thing you might crave is a cup of coffee or tea. But delay that desire and have a glass of water instead. Drinking water first thing not only rehydrates you but also helps your digestion, energises your metabolism and even temporarily suppresses your appetite. Making your first drink water will make you feel good and feel more focused. You can have a glass of water beside your bed for when you wake up or grab some cool H20 from the fridge downstairs.
Make your morning routine productive by starting your day with an easy win. Research is clear that our willpower peaks soon after we wake up. That makes early morning a perfect time to accomplish tasks that you find easy to do or that you enjoy. Tick off something on your to-do list and start off your morning with an easy win.
Getting out into the fresh air first thing isn’t always easy, especially in the colder months but it can be a key part of a healthy morning routine. Exposure to daylight resets your body’s circadian rhythm so you start the day feeling more energised and less groggy. Even if you can’t face the thought of going outside, open the curtains in your bedroom and let a little light into your morning routine!
An EMS session is of course great at any time of the day but it’s especially effective in the morning. Just 20 minutes of EMS morning training and your body feels stronger, fitter and you feel more alert. Exercising in the AM lifts your mood, can aid weight loss and helps regulate your sleep-wake cycle. A morning EMS session can also make you feel more creative and productive afterward.
