1. Know How Much Water You Should Drink

Staying hydrated is a lot easier when you know how much water you should be drinking. In general to keep your thirst quenched adult females should drink about 2 litres of water a day while adult males should try for 2.5 litres. This is a guideline so it does vary from person to person. Your ideal water consumption could increase depending on your body size, how much you sweat, how much you exercise, or the amount of protein or sodium that you take in through food. If you set a daily hydration goal that will make it a lot easier to know when you need to reach for your water bottle and maintain this healthy H20 habit.

2. Water Doesn’t Have to Be Boring

You aren’t restricted to just plain old water, you could make your daily hydration more fun with a bit of preparation. Try sparkling water or add calorie-free flavours like fruit or vegetable infusions to your H20. Add cucumber, lemon, berries or mint to a water jug and leave in the fridge to infuse overnight. Enjoy your flavoured aqua the next day. Drinking water is important for your health but it can be fun too!

3. Your Own Water Bottle for Easy Hydration

Get a good refillable water bottle and you make the habit of staying hydrated so much easier. A water bottle is a brilliant visual reminder to keep drinking right through the day. It’s easy to lose track of how much water you’ve drunk when we’re busy at home or in work. But if you schedule your water intake with a set alarm you won’t forget to keep yourself hydrated. Try setting an alarm on your phone or on a smart device like Alexa or Google to remind you to drink water every few hours. Set your alarm to make a habit of staying hydrated and soon you’ll be like a duck to water!

5. Link Daily Events to Hydration

Make it easier on yourself and associate things you do every day with drinking more water. For example, quench your thirst first thing in the morning with a nice cool glass of your flavoured water.
