EMS Treatment: Cheat your way to a beach body at 50

EMS Treatment: Cheat your way to a beach body at 50

Work Smarter for Your Beach Body

Do you want a beach body this summer but don’t have the time or the enthusiasm to spend hours sweating in the gym? Then be smarter and use EMS training to tone up like journalist, Nick Harding who in a recent article in the Daily Telegraph https://www.telegraph.co.uk/beauty/body/cheat-way-beach-body-50/ proclaimed “I want a beach body, and at 52 I don’t want to kill myself to get one.”

Nick decided to use the power of Electro Muscle Stimulation exercise, a “highly effective and time-efficient training method for increasing muscle strength and mass while simultaneously reducing body fat”. He found the “short, intense, targeted muscle workout, without any strain on joints or tendons” ideal for people like himself “who want to get fit but haven’t got the time or inclination to hit the gym every day.”

The Benefits of EMS Exercise

The EMS trainer working with journalist Nick Harding on his quest for a faster beach body was clear on the many benefits of Electro Muscle Stimulation exercise. “EMS is a full-body workout that stimulates deep muscles most people don’t engage.” EMS training is also “time-efficient, and very good for people who are intimidated by the idea of gyms, as all sessions are one-to-one with a personal trainer.” In addition, EMS sessions are “low-impact, so there is less risk of injury, and the exercises you do during sessions are technically simplistic.”

As Nick points out in his Daily Telegraph article https://www.telegraph.co.uk/beauty/body/cheat-way-beach-body-50/ EMS workouts are short at only 20 minutes but you get “plenty of bang for your buck”. And he underlines that this is not some kind of fitness fad; there’s plenty of science behind the fat burning properties of EMS sessions. A “2015 study put a cohort of untrained and physically inactive men over 65 with cardio-metabolic diseases and abdominal obesity through 14 weeks of whole-body EMS training, totalling 30 minutes a week.” And the results were impressive. “Each participant showed significant improvements in lean body mass and total fat reduction, as well as a tendency to lose abdominal fat and ‘significant’ improvements in strength and power.” That’s the power of EMS training. But how did Nick find the actual EMS sessions?

Futuristic Exercise for Fitness Today

Daily Telegraph journalist Nick Harding https://www.telegraph.co.uk/beauty/body/cheat-way-beach-body-50/ called his EMS training “a space-age exercise system”. He described the EMS vest that he put on as “dotted with electrode pads that fit over the main muscle groups in the chest, stomach, upper and lower back; participants also wear electrode-equipped straps around the glutes (buttocks), thighs and upper arms.” The EMS system “delivers pulsed electrical stimulation to the muscles it is pressed against, causing them to contract.” That means that the “stronger the electrical impulse, the harder the muscle works.”

But Nick isn’t working out on his own. Just as in Feel Electric’s clinics, his EMS session is “controlled by a personal trainer” who guides him “through a one-to-one set of exercises, controlling the intensity of the contractions” to suit his individual fitness or weight loss goals.
